It's been a while..

Almighty
We had a Foundation Studies Camp last Thursday. It was basically to get the students of foundation studies more acquainted with each other. The 2 day 1 night sleepover reminded me of some Outward Bound activity. The interesting thing was the assignment given to us, relating to our course of study: Business Students had to market and advertise the place, Art and Design had to draw nature and its surroundings, Science and Engineering had to make kites (??), and Media and Communications had to write a newsletter on the whole event. At least it was something that I'm interested in.

What Uncanny Timing

London OlympicsCelebration

The grueling competition to host the Olympics in 2012 came to an end with London emerging triumphant over long term rival Paris. The general response: screams of joy reverberating Trafalgar Square and groans of disappointment across the channel. One can't help but compare it to Admiral Nelson's victory 200 years ago at Trafalgar Square, which ended Napoleon's ambitions of invading England. The bidding took place at the heart of home, Singapore, and if anyone had been following the proceedings, you would probably have heard the remarks made. Imagine, grown man bickering like that. Makes one curious to see what would happen if the results had been otherwise. The result was 54-50. I wonder what were the odds for that? I am pretty sure some form of wager would have been going around.

A day, far far away.

Clear DayI had to go to the post office this morning to collect a letter my Dad sent me - was not around when the postman delivered it. I brought my camera out to take a couple of shots around the area. There was little sun today, opposed to a few days ago. Was not too cold, but it is the wind that makes it really chilly around here. Foggy DayEven with all that fog a couple of days back, the temperature was around 14ºC that day. The nights get pretty chilly to around 8ºC, but I'm never out by that time. It only gets bright at around 8.00am, and it is dark by 6.00pm. It has only been about a month of winter - 2 more to go. I was told that it gets colder during August, but there is no snow in Melbourne. I have already uploaded some pictures to Flickr, so just click on any picture to see the rest. All is well, and I hope everyone is doing fine. Enough of me already, what is happening back home?
