Some things never change

The following conversation was with a RP at the guard house this morning: -

Me: I'm here for my In Camp Training.

RP: ??

Me: ICT?

RP: ??

Me: Erm.. Reservist.

RP: Oh okay, do you have any documents for that?

Found it particularly amusing since I commented on it earlier that morning. I was fairly early having arrived in camp at 0745hrs. While waiting outside the auditorium, the Duty Officer (DO) walked out from the Ops Center. It turned out to be 2WO Chan - My 50k-relay trainer. Brief conversation was made, he asked why was I back and I told him.

He was confused and said, "On Sunday? You sure or not? How come I wasn't informed? You're the only one here leh." I showed him my SAF100 in hope of clarifying the confusion. He mumbled something in Hokkien in the usual Warren Chan fashion and went to make some calls to MSG Lau. "Wah, you very suay ah. Got ICT today." he said, returning from the phone call.

*sigh*

Apparently they've implemented an E-Booklet to replace the old hard copy. I was grinning while thinking to myself, "How were those male customers, that rejected E-Statements, going to cope with this transition since they don't have a choice." Amusing.

I know my schedule for the week and I hope the 3 nights of training doesn't materialize. I do get to go home but it'll be sickening to have to leave at night, only to return back the next day at 0730hrs.

As it turned out, that's what were we back today for: A short brief, and to collect our temporary passes. We could have left much earlier but 2 jokers "were not informed that they had to return today". So it was the good old "one for all, all for one" treatment; We had to wait for the last man to report before everyone could leave.

*SIGH*

What can I say?

Passing Thought: Does it mean that if I'm born on 29th Feburary, my birthday window for IPPT be 4 years? :P
